Evaristo Valle

The Evaristo Valle Foundation Museum is situated in "La Redonda" estate in Somió (Gijón) and occupies some 16,000 square metres of splendid gardens.

This museum houses the work that the artist Evaristo Valle (Gijón, 1873 - 1951) conserved until his death, ranging from his first paintings done in Paris from 1903 on wards, portraits of relatives, carnival scenes and delicate country themes from his period as a mature artist through to a series of paintings from his final years depicting a variety of archetypal characters.

The museum also conserves an important collection of drawings, documents and manuscripts from his literary work, work materials and an interesting collection of shells started by the artist'sfather in the mid-19th century.
