The XVII edition of the Muestra de Danza Contemporánea y Artes del Movimiento, Danza Xixón 2017, keeping in line with the work from previous editions, presents a numerous and varied show of contemporary dance and movement arts through different techniques and languages aiming at facilitating access to the most innovative scene of this field.

DanceLab Berlin, Kukai Dantza, Sol Picó, Sara Cano, Paula Quintana, Carmelo Segura Companhia, Brodas Bros, Iron Skulls Co, OtraDanza, Da.Te Danza, Taiat Danza, Colectivo Las Twins, Nueveuno, Higiénico Papel, Zig Zag Danza, Meraki Cía, Little Boxes Creaciones Escénicas and Producciones Nun Tris, are the eighteen companies that will show us their work through thirty shows that will take place in different spaces of the city: Centro de Cultura Antiguo Instituto,Teatro Jovellanos, Centros Municipales Integrados, Museo Nicanor Piñole, Espacio Escénico el Huerto, Teatro de la Laboral and Tomás y Valiente Street.

Danza Xixón always takes into account the school, children and family audiences. Thus, there are twelve specific shows proposed for this type of audience by specialized companies like Higiénico Papel, OtraDanza, Da.Te Danza, Colectivo Las Twins and Zig Zag Danza.

We will have professionals that are currently experimenting and developing new lines of research like Paula Quintana ( Max Awards 2016 nominee) and Sara Cano (Suma Flamenca 2015 award) at the workshops, meeting and perfectioning spaces that support and enrich the alumni education ( fans, dance students and professional dancers).

We recommend the seminar “El Criadero” for families, directed by Marisa Amor, specialized in developing dance and movement projects for children and teenagers.
