Octopus with shellfish

In recent times, octopus with shellfish ("pulpu amariscau") has won over the heart of those who love this fruit of the sea.


Cut potatoes into ½ cm thick slices and fry them. Once fried, put them at the bottom of the pot and put sliced octopus on top.

Prepare the sauce as follows: Put oil and thinly chopped onion in a pan, stir-fry until they turn a golden brown colour, add flour and sauté. Mash cloves, parsley and white wine in a mortar and pestle and then incorporate it to the pan; let it cook, pour fish stock and let it boil for about 20 minutes.

Once sauce is thickened, pour it into the pan without covering octopus completely, add small crabs cut into four pieces, as well as red shrimps and clams. Let everything boil for 10 minutes.

  • 300 gr. cooked octopus.
  • 2 potatoes.
  • 1 small crab.
  • 4 red shrimps.
  • 100 cc. virgin olive oil.
  • 1/2 onion.
  • 1 tablespoon of flour.
  • 1 tablespoon of fried tomato.
  • 4 cloves of garlic.
  • 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley.
  • 1 glass of white wine.
  • 1/2 l. fish stock.
